Acceptance is a frame of mind that responds to the unexpected with a willingness to move forward in a new way.
Jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis was a master of improvisation. He seemed to view wrong notes as creative opportunities. Accepting that he couldn't "un-hit" an unplanned note, he responded to it by allowing it to take the music in a new direction, choosing the notes to follow in such a way as to create a beautiful and unexpected composition.
